8 Days Grand Tour from Marrakech to Tangier :

Day 1 : Arrival to Marrakech :

Welcome to Morocco! Arrive at Menara airport in Marrakech where you will meet your driver. The driver will provide a brief review of your tour. Dinner & night at the hotel.

Day 2 : Marrakech Sightseeing Tour :

After breakfast, you will Enjoy the guided city tour of Marrakech. The morning begins with a visit to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque the landmark of Marrakech which has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back to the time of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service the mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadian Dynasty that originated from the valley of the Draa River. After a lunch break, You Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square. which houses an array of food, snake charmers, local musicians, and fortune-tellers. There’s nowhere on Earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. You will also walk through the souks and view hundreds of handicrafts. Night and breakfast at the Riad.

Day 3 : Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Rose Valley - Dades Gorges :

After breakfast in your Riad, we leave Marrakech venturing through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the pass of Tichka (2260 m), offering an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas Mountain chain to Ouarzazate where many famous movies have been shot such as Alexander the Great, The Mummy, The jewel of the Nile, Kingdom of heaven Etc… The scenery is absolutely stunning. We stop at the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most spectacular fortresses in the South of Morocco and a UNESCO world heritage site.

Lunch will be in Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate “The Hollywood of Africa”. We continue our journey to the Valley of Roses known for its annual festival during the roses harvest in May. Spend the night with dinner in Dades Gorges.

Day 4 : Dades gorges - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Bunes :

After breakfast in the Hotel/Riad, we start our day with a drive towards the Todra Gorges where many of rock climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Later we continue our holiday, following the ancient Bedouin trading routes parallel in the Middle Atlas, passing a series of fortified villages with outstanding pre-Saharian architecture. The route to Erfoud is one of the most pleasing of all the Southern routes. The town is in a dry red built of desert and was built by the French as a central administration town. Also known for its rich black fossils marble. The stone is sculpted to bring the fossils into relief on everything from ashtrays to washbasins and more.

We head down to the spectacular Merzouga dunes where sand dunes signify the start of the mighty Sahara Desert. We leave our vehicle and take a camel ride into the desert to a Berber camp. To seal through the mighty dunes of sand, an experience of a lifetime, why not surf the Sahara Desert and try sand Dunes Boarding? After dinner, we gather around the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber music.

Day 5 : Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi :

This is a complete Desert day. “Date with the sunrise” If you are In the middle of the desert, it’s absolutely worth getting up early to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you’ve ever seen at the top of a dune close to the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. After sunrise, we return to Merzouga on the camels where a warm delicious breakfast is waiting for us. Then we’ll skirt the Erg Chebbi, a great extension of the sandy desert where we can find the Big Dune of Morocco, which has more than 250mts high.

We continue then by the road that was formerly used for the “Paris – Dakar” and ends in the mountains that limit with Algeria. Stop at Tissardmin Oasis where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area, we continue then by a road where we can see nomad settlements and learn their secrets and manners. The next stop will be at a viewpoint to contemplate the hole, Erg Chebbi. We’ll reach then Kamilia Village, where we’ll take a relaxing cup of tea meanwhile we listen to a concert of the spiritual music of Gnawa.

After dropping you off at your accommodation, you will have a free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to see the sunset. Dinner and night in the hotel.

 

Day 6 : Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests and monkey troupes of Azrou – Fes :

After breakfast, we start our last day in the Southeast of Morocco heading North, through the biggest palm grove of Tafilalet. You’ll see thousands of palm trees along the 20km of road.

 We will make a stop in Midelt, just in the heart of the Atlas where you’ll have free time for lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we continue our way through the Cedar Woods.

The next place we’ll visit is the city of Ifrane, the misplaced city in Morocco, situated on the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above the water level. It’s broad avenues and urban development with perfect cleanness, the gardens, the green areas, and its architecture make this city look like a Swiss town. That’s why it’s named Moroccan Switzerland.

Along the way, we will stop for a picture or a drink before arriving at Fes, where our journey ends.

Day 7 : Fes – Sightseeing :

After breakfast in the Riad, you will begin our guided tour of the Old Medina Fes, one of the world’s largest walled cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other art traditional objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and the potters are just a few places you will experience.

free time for lunch you may choose to eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, you will continue the tour and return to your Riad for the evening.

Day 8 : Fes – Chefchaouen – Tangier :

After having a delicious breakfast in Riad, you’ll go to Tangier through the farmland, and small villages before you reach the impressive Rif Mountains. On the way, you will visit the Blue City which nestles in the hollow of the two mountains – Ech-Chaoua from which it takes its name. Steep narrow streets with white and indigo lime-washed buildings, small squares, ornate fountains, and houses with elaborately decorated doorways and red tile roofs make this a delightful town. Enjoy your lunch in one of the traditional Restaurants with its atmospheric view over the Ech-Chaoua Mountains. In the afternoon, drop you off in your Riad or where you want in Tangier.
