5 Days desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes
Day 1 : Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate :
We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech. Afterward, we drive towards Ouarzazate through the Tizi N’Tichka mountain pass (2260m), which is the highest road pass in Morocco in the High Atlas Mountains. Then we arrive at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – local Unesco Heritage–, which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco.
we will enjoy lunch in Ait Ben Haddou before we continue our way to Ouarzazate, or as it is called “the Hollywood of Africa”, and go visit a local kasbah in the area and then the movie studio.
we will drive along the “Road of the Thousand Kasbahs”. Hence, we stop at “Kalaat Mgouna”, famous for its roses, and the annual festival of roses in May. Finally, on this Marrakech tour, our last station will be in Dades Gorges, and we will spend the night in a local hotel( dinner and breakfast included).
Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Skoura – Kelaa M’Gouna – Valley Of Roses – Dades Gorges – Boulmane – Tineghir – Todra Gorges :
This morning after breakfast in the hotel, we will leave Ouarzazate towards Skoura where we will visit the Kasbah of Amredil, a beautiful Kasbah along “the Road of one thousand Kasbahs” with palm groves all over the place.
Later on, the journey continues through the Valley of Roses then cross the off-road with the possibility to visit nomad families living in caves. You will visit the Dades Gorges and see the rock formations.
After then head to Boulmane Dades and have a break for lunch. In the afternoon we continue to Tinghir then to Todra Gorges where you gonna enjoy its marvelous views of Canyons. Dinner and overnight in Kasbah Hotel.
Day 3 : Todra Gorges – Tinjedad – Touroug Town – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) :
This morning, you will walk around the Palm Plantations and enjoy the panoramic view of the Todra River. Later on, we drive toward Tinjedad for a lunch meal at a local restaurant. Later you will pass by several villages such as Touroug (Berber village) and El-Jarf before reaching Erfoud. You will visit a local fossil craft workshop.
After that, you will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arrive at the hotel and get ready for a camel trek for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset. While you are still on your dromedary, you will continue to the camp and spend the night in a bivouac in the middle of the dunes.
Day 4 : Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomad Family – Merzouga 4×4 Desert Tour :
Wake up early morning to enjoy the most beautiful sunrise on the top of the dunes of the Sahara Desert then camel trek back to the hotel and have a nice breakfast and warm shower before we get on a new journey and adventure.
On your 4th day of this trip, you will have a tour through the dunes of Erg-Chebbi using 4×4 quads. you will get the chance to visit a nomad family living in tents and have a look at their lifestyle, and then visit the Khamlia village where its people are known for their spiritual music of Gnawa.
You will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied. After lunch, you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located at the foot of the dunes. Then Continue to your hotel for a shower and relax. Dinner and Overnight in an Auberge.
Day 5 : Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes :
Today you will travel to Rissani and investigate the local market (Souks). later on, you will depart to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous and the valley of Ziz then stop for a panoramic view of the oasis of Aoufous in the Tafilalte region.
Continuation to Midelt across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt and have a lunch break. After lunch, you will be driven to Fes (the medieval city) via the Cedar forest near Azrou with the possibility of seeing the Barbary apes (monkies). You may have a stop in Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving in Fes.
Your full desert tour excursion from Marrakech to Fes will end with a drop-off in Fes.
