Highlights:
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Your Morocco trip starts with a pick-up from Casablanca airport or your hotel. If time allows, you’ll stop for an outside look at the beautiful Hassan II Mosque. Then we drive to Rabat, the capital. You’ll see the old Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After that, we may pass by the old city of Meknes before reaching Fes.
Day 2: Fes – Exploring the Old Medina
After breakfast, a local guide will take you to explore Fes el-Bali, the old walled city listed by UNESCO. You’ll walk through its narrow alleys full of old houses, shops, and workshops. Highlights include the big gates of the Royal Palace, the old Jewish quarter (Mellah), beautiful old Quran schools, the famous old tanneries, and the lively traditional souks. Overnight in your hotel or riad in Fes.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
Today we drive to the Sahara Desert, passing different landscapes. First stop is Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland.” Then we visit the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. We continue to Midelt and the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees and small villages. Later we reach Merzouga, near the tall sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we stay overnight.
Day 4: Merzouga – Desert Discovery & Camel Ride
Today is for exploring the desert around Merzouga. We visit the seasonal lake (if it’s not dry), hear old Gnawa music in Khamlia village, and see desert mines and palm trees. We may also visit a Berber nomad family. In the afternoon, ride a camel into the dunes to see the sunset. Enjoy dinner and music at a traditional desert camp.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, return by camel or 4×4. Then we stop at Rissani’s old market, visit Erfoud, and continue to the Todra Gorges. These are tall, narrow canyons where you can walk by the river. Later, we arrive in the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its strange rock shapes. Overnight in a small hotel or kasbah.
Day 6: Dades – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, drive along the old “road of a thousand kasbahs”. We pass by Skoura Oasis, full of palm trees and old buildings like Kasbah Amerhidil. In Ouarzazate, we see Taourirt Kasbah and maybe the film studios. Then visit the famous old village of Ait Ben Haddou, used in movies like Gladiator. In the afternoon, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Reach Marrakech in the evening.
Day 7: Discover Old Marrakech
Today, explore Marrakech, known as the “Red City.” A local guide will show you the old medina. You’ll see the Koutoubia Mosque (from the outside), the old Saadian Tombs, and the beautiful Bahia Palace. Then visit the famous square of Jemaa el-Fna, full of food, music, and street shows. Walk through the colorful souks. Optional visits include the Majorelle Garden or Menara Gardens. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport Transfer
After breakfast, depending on your flight time, we will take you to the airport. !
Marrakech: Jemaa el-Fnaa, Saadian Tombs, and Majorelle Garden.
Ait Benhaddou: UNESCO-listed ksar and film locations.
Merzouga: Erg Chebbi dunes and desert camping.
Fes: Al Quaraouiyine University and Chouara Tannery.
Casablanca: Hassan II Mosque and the Corniche.
