This amazing 6-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech is perfect for travelers who want to see the best of Morocco in a short time. We’ll visit historic cities, the Sahara Desert (Merzouga), and beautiful mountain villages.
We’ll begin in Tangier, a city by the sea. Then we’ll explore the blue city of Chefchaouen, the old town of Fes, and you’ll ride camels in the Merzouga Desert, and sleep under the stars in a Sahara camp. The tour ends back in Marrakech.
Highlights:
Your Morocco tour begins in Tangier. We’ll meet you at the airport, port, or hotel, and then drive to the beautiful Chefchaouen, also called the Blue City, in the Rif Mountains.
Once you arrive, you’ll check into a cozy riad or hotel. In the afternoon, stroll through the blue-painted streets, visit local markets, try traditional Moroccan food, and enjoy the peaceful vibe. It’s a perfect start to your journey.
After breakfast, we leave Chefchaouen and head to Volubilis, a famous Roman ruins site. You’ll walk among ancient mosaics and stone ruins from the 3rd century.
Next, we stop in Meknes, a historic imperial city. You’ll see the Bab el Mansour gate, visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and explore the old medina. Then, we drive to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad.
Today is all about Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. A local guide will show you the best of the city.
You’ll see the beautiful Royal Palace gates, walk through the old medina (Fes el-Bali), visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine (the world’s oldest), and admire places like Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Nejjarine Fountain.
You’ll also stop by the colorful Chouara Tanneries and explore handmade crafts in the local souks. After this full day, head back to your riad for a relaxing night.
After breakfast, we head south to the Sahara Desert. First stop is Ifrane, a clean mountain town that looks like a European village.
Then we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you might spot Barbary monkeys in the cedar forests. We stop for lunch, then pass the lush Ziz Valley, full of palm trees.
By late afternoon, we reach the Merzouga Desert. You’ll ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watch a stunning sunset, and spend the night in a luxury desert camp. Enjoy dinner, sit by the fire, and listen to Berber music under the stars.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, ride back by camel or 4×4, then begin the drive to Dades Valley.
Along the way, stop at Rissani, a lively market town, and walk through the incredible Todra Gorge, with its tall cliffs and cool river path.
Continue to the Dades Valley, famous for its monkey fingers rock formations and red canyons. Tonight, stay in a lovely hotel surrounded by nature.
Your last day starts with a drive to Ouarzazate, known as “The Hollywood of Africa”. You can visit Atlas Studios, where many famous movies were filmed.
Then, we head to Ait Ben Haddou, a beautiful UNESCO Kasbah used in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring, we enjoy lunch and drive over the High Atlas Mountains, passing stunning views and Berber villages.
