Welcome to Tangier! We meet you at the airport, port, or your hotel. Then we drive through the Rif Mountains to the beautiful blue town of Chefchaouen. When you arrive, walk around the calm blue streets, visit small shops, and enjoy a tasty Moroccan dinner. Overnight in a charming riad.
After breakfast, we drive to the old Roman ruins of Volubilis, where you can see ancient mosaics and learn about Roman history. Then we stop in Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We visit the medina, the Bab El Mansour gate, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later, we head to Fes and check in to a traditional riad.
Today, we explore Fes, one of the oldest cities in Morocco. We visit the big royal gates, walk through the old medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), see Al-Qarawiyyin University, and stop at the colorful leather tanneries. You will also visit a traditional madrasa (old Islamic school) and the Jewish quarter. In the evening, relax at your riad.
We leave Fes and drive through Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland”, and the cedar forest, where you might see Barbary monkeys. Then we continue through the scenic Ziz Valley, filled with palm trees. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, near the Sahara Desert. You ride a camel through the golden Erg Chebbi dunes and watch the sunset. Tonight, enjoy music and dinner at your desert camp under the stars.
Wake up early for a beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, visit a nomad family, see Khamlia village with its live Gnawa music, and explore an old mining village. Return to Merzouga for lunch. Later, relax at a hotel with a pool or enjoy optional quad biking or a walk on the dunes. Dinner and overnight in your riad or hotel.
After breakfast, we visit the local market in Rissani (open on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). Then we go to the tall Todra Gorge, great for walking and taking photos. In the afternoon, we drive through the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its monkey fingers rock formations. Overnight in a hotel with mountain views.
After breakfast, we drive to Ouarzazate, called the Hollywood of Africa. You can visit the famous Atlas Film Studios. Then, we stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site where many movies were filmed like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech in the evening. Overnight in a beautiful riad.
Today we discover Marrakech, a city full of life and colors. Visit the old medina, explore busy souks (markets), and see places like the Bahia Palace, the peaceful Majorelle Garden, and the famous main square full of musicians and street food. Enjoy your last night in Morocco with a special dinner or relaxing time at your riad.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the Marrakech Airport (or Casablanca Airport if needed). This marks the end of your unforgettable 9-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
